Ingredient in action
Research has shown that phagocytosed LAC-Shield™ activates plasmacytoid dendric cells (pDCs), which could provide a first line of host defense against viral infection, mainly through the production of type I IFNs.
Type I IFNs are important for communicating with and supporting other immune cells such as NK cells, B cells and T cells.
In addition, LAC-Shield™ also can induce IL-12 production and promote antigen-specific IgA, the antibody that is the main component of adaptive immunity.
